On my old blog, the Blog Takeover Day, which normally takes place on my birthday (11th August) every year was hugely popular, but I do feel it ran its course. So this year for my birthday, on my bright new blog, I thought I’d start something new.
On 11th August this year I will be 48 years old. So I thought what better than to have everyone write something on the theme of forty-eight. It can be forty-eight anythings, either tangible or abstract. 48 cakes, 48 candles, 48 dogs/cats/budgies/people/little fluffy animals, 48 hours/minutes/days and so on. It could even be a story or poem of 48 words exactly if you like. I think we’ll have a maximum word count of 2000 though so that we all have time to read them all.
It can be either fiction or non-fiction, poetry or even a picture you’ve created. You can even put up the 48th page of your novel if you want to entice readers to buy it. It’s up to all of you how you interpret the theme as long as 48 is recognisable in there somewhere.
As with the blog takeover, post them on your own blog on the day, then let me know here so I can add a link, and of course, all copyright remains with the participants. Do let me know if you’re interested in taking part below, so I know how many might join in. Also pass on the word, as everyone is welcome to take part.
