This is a reminder that my ‘Birthday Bash’ will take place on 11th August 2011. So if you want to take part get writing your story, poem, article or whatever on the theme of 48. It can even be the 48th page of your novel.
And to celebrate my birthday I’m giving away a signed copy of Sunlit Secrets! Just leave a message below this post, offering me all sort of outrageous promise you can’t deliver, or just say ‘pick me’ and the winner gets the signed copy. The comp closes at 5pm on 11th August 2011. As always this comp is only open to those with a British address, but if you live abroad and have a relative or friend with a British address who is happy to pass the novella on to you (at your cost), that’s fine too.

I managed to get a copy in WHSmith today and am looking forward to reading it immensely! (So don’t put me in the draw (or the drawer) obviously.)
As if I’d put you in the drawer! I hope you enjoy it xxx
I’d love to read it and we don’t have a WHSmith here. I’ll give you… the universe. I can’t think of anything bigger than that. I have friends in Britain.
I’d love to read it, so let’s see, a promise I can’t deliver…
I’ll give up chocolate. I won’t spend time on blogs when I should be writing. I’ll take up exercise.
Oh wait, was it supposed to benefit you?
Pick me! Pick me! My cousin’s birthday is the same day as yours Sally and my own birthday is 20th August so it would be the perfect pressie!
Of course the pressie I’d give you (but could never deliver) would be…..48 hot studly male types to be the heroes of your next 48 best sellers! (I don’t think anyone could deliver that many hot men in one go!!)
Gosh, some how I missed your blog about your birthday bash… hmmm… will try and get my thinking cap on. Oh and I really want to get hold of your pocket novel. Failed miserably last time.
I’ve finished the first draft of a 50,000 word My Weekly pocket novel but am now too scared to start the editing process in case I realise that everything I’ve written is total rubbish! So, reading Sunlit Secrets might help point me in the right direction when I finally pluck up courage to knock my own manuscript into shape.
Also I was 48 in March of this year and I promise to take part in your birthday bash… grovel… grovel…
Sally,
Completing a 50k Pocket Novel is a glorious achievement. You’ve done the hard bit. Why not lay it aside for a week or so while you get on with something else? By the time you go back for the edit you’ll be seeing your novel with new eyes and (hopefully) the changes it might need will stand out. Good luck with it. Let us know how you get on, won’t you?
hello…i’d love to have a complimentary read of Sunlit Secrets – i’m a very new writer and new to your blog…i need all your help/tips/ideas on getting started and more importantly, to see exactly what i need to aim for in this competitive world of literature!
happy 48th birthday…and here’s a toast to you hitting your next milestone -the big ’5-0′ – healthily and wealthily.
I’d love to win a copy, Sally.
I was shocked, indeed mortified to learn that you will be 48 – no way!
You don’t look a day over 38.
LOL for the 11th
Julia
Romance is often in the air at the Californian senior center where I used to work! I met my husband there when I was 52. So Sally fear not the age of 48. Just enjoy!
Have a great day.
Sue
Sally, I’m a fan of yours, but MW pocket novels are not available in India! If I win this, you could send it to my mum. She’s visiting me in October! So please add my name!
