Bella’s Vineyard and A Collector of Hearts now on Kindle

I’m delighted to announce that I have two new Kindle books on sale. You don’t need a Kindle device in order to read them, as you can download a Kindle App for your computer or laptop. Click on links in bold to be taken to Amazon.co.uk page. The ebooks are also available on Amazon.com.

Bella’s Vineyard

Bella's Vineyard

Bella’s Vineyard was the first western romance I wrote. Anyone following me at the time will have heard all the ups and downs of the project, culminating in what was for me, a surprising acceptance. The book was first published by My Weekly Pocket Novels and then by Linford Romance Library.

‘Bella Tennyson is a stranger in a strange land. She and her gambling addict
brother have travelled to America to claim a vineyard left to them by their
aunt, also called Bella. When Bella and Andrew are threatened by local big shot,
Arthur Griffiths, it seems their only friends are the handsome part-Cherokee
marshal, Vance Eagleson, and May Tucker, the loyal friend of their late aunt. As
tensions rise in an unforgiving land, Bella and Vance fall in love…’

A Collector of Hearts

A Collector of Hearts

A Collector of Hearts is my 2nd novel featuring my favourite character, Mrs. Oakengate (by the vagaries of publishing in Large Print by Linford Romance Libraries the first novel featuring Mrs. Oakengate, My True Companion, won’t be available in large print till January 2012, hence it not being published on Kindle just yet). The novella takes place 16 years after the first story, and is set at Halloween. As with Bella’s Vineyard it was originally published by My Weekly Pocket Novels, and is due to be published in large print by Linford Romance Library on 1st October 2011.

‘It’s 1936. Level-headed Caroline Conrad does not believe in ghosts, but even
she is shaken when strange things start happening at a Halloween House Party. At
Stony Grange Abbey, the atmosphere certainly unsettles her, but the presence of
the handsome, albeit changeable, Blake Laurenson increases her sense of unease.
Then Caroline finds herself fighting to clear her name. She’s accused of
stealing the priceless Cariastan Heart – has Blake framed her? And just who is
the mysterious Prince Henri?’

  1. I know I could download the Kindle app on my laptop but I don’t want to read these on my laptop.
Instead, when I get a Kindle for my birthday, I’ll buy the ebooks then. How about yours being the first ones I buy?
Seriously, well done on these, again. You’ve done so well with the pocket novel/large print market. Truly inspirational!

    • I’d be very honoured to be the first author to appear on your Kindle xxx

  2. I read this when it was published as a pocket novel so have written you a Kindle review. Good luck with the sales! I still think we need some sort of collective Kindle marketing strategy for all these pocket novels. Our own publishing line or something, like an equivalent of Kindle singles. Not that I’m sure how many other pocket novelists publish in ebook form.

    • Thank you so much for the review, Jane. It was fantastic! I tend to call my ‘publishing company’ Tales from the Shed, but yes it would be nice if there was a collective name for them all, wouldn’t it? Maybe an agreement that as long as the novella had previously been published by My Weekly, People’s Friend and/or Ulverscroft, it could use the publishing line name. I have had some queries about publishing on Kindle from other pocket novelists, so I know I’m not the only one doing it, or thinking of doing it.

      • I call my publishing company ‘Pisky Publishing’. I also mastered Smashwords and published there. Just need to write some more books now… ;-)

        • Are your ex MW pocket novels on Kindle yet, Jane? If so, give me a link and I’ll put it up on the blog. If we can’t come up with a single imprint, perhaps I could just have a page on the blog pointing to them. With the pocket novel workshops and given that not all of the old titles are for sale yet, I’m sure people will be interested to read them.

          • Sorry I didn’t mean for sale yet. I meant not available in libraries yet. D’oh!

          • Yes, my novel is here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secrets-in-the-Sand-ebook/dp/B005CIHI5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317405712&sr=8-1. I appreciate your offer of giving me some extra promotion. I’m also coming out in large print in the first quarter of next year! It all feels very exciting.

          • Thanks, Jane. I’ll try and get something set up. WordPress wasn’t playing ball today when I tried to add a new page. I’m not sure if it’s wordpress or the heat or my ineptitude… ;-)
