Here are five more prompts courtesy of the lovely peeps in the Facebook 100k in 100 days group. It includes one from me.
Go to your bookshelves, take the fifth book from the left, open it at page fifteen, and use the tenth complete sentence as the opening line of your story. (Sue Barnard)
Turn on the radio, and write something which fictionalises whatever you hear. (Sue Barnard)
Try picking a colour and writing as much as you can about it. Things that are that colour, emotions, traditions or memories associated with it. (Patsy Davies)
Grab the novel nearest to you, write down the first line, and then write on from there. (Susan Elliot-Wright)
Pick a song that you absolutely hate. Write something about it that shows the song in a positive light (but do remember that you can’t use actual lyrics, though there is no copyright on titles) (Sally Q).
How is everyone doing? I hit 6071 words today. Don’t worry if you’ve fallen behind. It’s really hard to get back into the swing of things after the Christmas/New Year break. You’ve got plenty of time to catch up!

Thanks for including mine! (Suppose that means I should get on and write something)
I am doing abysmally so far. Haven’t written anything in the last two days and didn’t hit 1k on the 1st either! My lack of motivation is shocking, I need someone to prod me with pointed stick, I think.
I’m afraid to admit on the FB group (so I’ll fess up here) I haven’t even started yet, which technically means I’m 7000 words behind… Still thinking, still petrified. MIT try one of the above prompts to get me going. It’s just been so long since I’ve been able to write! X
You can catch up just by adding 100 words a day to the 1000 word a day target, Fionulla, so don’t worry too much. Just write anything, even if it feels like rubbish.
‘Might’ try
