Wow, what a day this has been publication wise. I received an acceptance from Ulverscroft for both Take My Breath Away and The Ghost of Christmas Past for Large Print publication. I was especially pleased about the latter, as it’s only been self-published on Kindle thus far and was my first test at trying something like that with Ulverscroft. Sara Hamblin at Ulverscroft also said I could try them with The Steps of the Priory, which is 91k, for their softback family sagas. I was expecting to have to wait ages for a reply, but Sara came straight back saying they’d accept it if I could cut it down to 85k. As it was originally that length and I only put it up to 91k with a specific market in mind, I’m more than happy to comply!
So the first two are thrilling, but to know that (as long as I do the edits) The Steps of the Priory will be in print soon is an extra special thrill. It is my favourite baby and now I feel that it’s worth starting the follow up! I’ve already got an idea in mind, involving Charlie and Ronnie, the two girls who were bit-part characters in the first novel. But there’ll also be more of my favourite character, Bobby, who I absolutely fell in love with when writing the first book.
I’ll post more news on all the books as I have it!
